HYDRAULIC SHOCK DAMPERS.

With reference to the dampers at present being fitted up for R. {Sir Henry Royce} at Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence and the pair to be run on the 20 HP. to be taken down there.

The modifications to the original N.sch. are :-

(1) Strengthened link in N.S.
(2) Strengthened lever eye.
(3) Anti-chattering plug on top of H.P. valve cap.
(4) Spring loaded gland packed with asbestos and graphite, with modified lever to suit.
(5) Cap with increased air space and breather as detailed by HEB. {H. Biraben} 9.3.26.

We consider that R. {Sir Henry Royce} would also like a piece of sheet metal drilled to enable him to hold the shock absorbers in the vice to obtain the poundage etc., and also to test the efficiency of our temporary restricted leak arrangement. We might supply him with two of these (see sketch) in case he wants to run them on the road. With regard to springs for the poundage of the shock ab-sorber. It is definitely decided that these will be about 75 lbs. and 30 lbs. Under the circumstances, R. {Sir Henry Royce} will probably want springs
