BRAKE SQUEAKS.
No.
(1) Front. } M.L. Now instructed. Cantry BZ. if
(2) Rear. } the M.L is not good enough.

(3) Front brake shafts actuating stiff. A convenient space is now being filled with thick oil.

(4) Rear actuating mechanism squeak. This is generally caused by the ball joints: now assembled with special grease.

(5) Inefficient hand brake. A new hand brake lever has been standardized.

SERVO.
(1) Squeak. We are trying other linings.

(2) Piston sticking. This is a new one. Will have to look into it. Possibly manufacturing error.

GEARBOX.
(1) Difficulty engaging 2nd. top gear (hot) synchromesh inefficient bedding.

STARTER MOTOR.
(1) Crashing.
(a) new starter ring fitted. both brake scheme being tested which will prevent
(b) dressed up teeth of ring. damage of the ring.
also modified Foges and longer pinion standardised.

(2) Freed brushes.

(3) Push button faulty. Depot sheet issued, re longer install and correct sequence of operation.

(4) Contact arm in motor defective, contacts remained closed. Report issued re this failure recommending certain modifications (RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/REW/JH 7.3.38) D.O. to look into the question as soon as possible.

DYNAMO.
(1) Failure to keep battery charged i.e. faulty regulator. New high output dynamo being rushed through also new type higher output regulator to be supplied.

(2) Armature fuse blowing or loose in clip. Improved fuse board now standard.
13.
(3) Solder melted commutator. Owners supplied with special open type armature TO H.D. 371 See (1) New armature will fit existing machine. New fuse fitted.

(4) Sticking of brushes. Improved Brush gear retailed.
