-2- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/PJH.23/KW.8.4.36. (2) Location of Contact Piece in Sleeve. This difficulty would, of course, not exist on the Ph.III type of joint. In the case of the existing joint, we consider that the increase of machining cost due to the locating lug as suggested is so great as not to be justified. The same result could be achieved at no extra cost by making the retaining bolt of smaller dia. and offset from the centre line of the joint. We suggest that this trouble should be overcome either, (1) by use of the Ph.III type of joint, (2) by the use of more care during assembly as has been done the last 10 years on 25 HP., or (3) by the use of an offset pin. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/F.J.Hardy. With regard to the Ph.III we agree that we shall have an opportunity of confirming if this is satisfactory on the 15,000 miles Ph.III test about to commence. | ||
