| G.W.Hancock, Esq., Hotel de France, Chateauroux(French test region), Indre, FRANCE. 87941 To GWH. {George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} From Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 4/MJ.10.9.31. 25-EX. With reference to your note 29.8.31. We are anxious to know whether there is any reason why the cross steering tube load does not remain constant other than the neck of the ball fouling the pad, as you have previously reported. We presume that you would clear this pad away and therefore that the spring must be taking a permanent set, but should like this confirmed, as if it is a question of rapid wear taking place on the ball pad we want to ask immediately for some new design. With reference to failing to meet you in Paris on Thursday the 27th., it was regrettable that as you were in Paris at lunchtime on Thursday, you did not communicate with Sevres that afternoon, as I did not leave the Depot until 6 p.m. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
