To Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} For Log Book. 200a Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}3/AP.8.11.37. Run of about 300 Miles on 3.B.1V. (1) There is a noticeable rumble during a hard stop from high speeds which might be due to lack of location of the engine and, hence, servo. (2) The throttle sticks at any speed up to 2,000 r.p.m. (3) The engine mount appears to be an improvement over standard as regards engine roughness but can be felt to be jumping about on a rough road. (4) The tyre noise with the latest variety India tyre seems good enough for Production and the adhesion on wet roads adequate. (5) The head lamp reflectors did a considerable amount of dipping on their own on the Holyhead Road. (6) By far the worst feature of the car is the ride, which is neither comfortable nor safe at any position of the hand control. Either the Gordon Armstrong dampers should be made to function correctly or should be changed for R.R. ones. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
