To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} X328 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth.9/KW.30.12.35. Ph.III Gearboxes. We have now established that if the 3rd and 4th and 2nd speed sliding pieces are a tight fit in the splines and dogs, chunking can be brought down to a tolerable quantity. We have now 2 or 3 boxes in which this fit has been improved by copper plating the pieces. Since we cannot expect the copper to last very long, will you please put in hand new pieces for these boxes.
