P R F.T.H. x328 BY: c.E. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Ba. RHG. HDY.{William Hardy}1/HP.30.12.35. Gearbox - Phantom 3. We send herewith N.Sch.4709 which shows the diaphragm retaining bolts reduced in size to .250 to prevent the cracking of the bosses in the diaphragm which is said to occur occasionally. Alternatively when a convenient opportunity occurs the bosses may be enlarged as shown to accommodate the present .312 bolt as this results in a slight economy in the drilling operation as the flange bolts are also .312.
