To Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} ...... Cricklewood. c. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Re: HEADLAMPS. We have taken up with Messrs. Joseph Lucas Ltd., the failure of the Bentley Headlamps, due to the internals of the adaptor sticking. There is no excuse to offer and they are surprised that such work should be passed, and proffer to take action in the necessary quarter to prevent re-occurrence of this trouble. With regard to the 13 other headlamp failures due to dippers sticking, burning out, burnt contacts, etc. These have merely been treated as service cases and no action to prevent a re-occurrence, by way of alteration to design, has been taken.
