1256 xx 2424. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Mths.{Reg Matthews}9/MH.{M. Huckerby} 19th. January 1938. The Light Production Co. Ltd., 60/66, Rochester Row, Westminster, London, S.W.1. For the attention of Mr. C.H.Brooks, Dear Sirs, We are to-day despatching to you under separate cover three R.R. Split skirt Pistons and we should be pleased if you could arrange to get these tin plated for us. The pistons are in normal R.R.53 alloy so that there should be no complications. We are about to start on a series of Piston scuffing tests and think that we shall perhaps notice the effect of tin plating more readily with our split skirt tight fitting piston. We are instructing our Order Office to pass an official order for this job. Sometime in the near future we should like you to grind some of our T-slot pistons to your No.12 cam but the writer is not able at the moment to say exactly when we shall be ready with them for grinding nor the exact quantity until he has had a word with Mr. Robotham. We trust you will be able to grind these pistons for us. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
