COPY. "Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}" Works. X3875 PS5/Crn12.10.27. Re Chassis 4-RF. - Mr. Daniel Dreyfus. We recently had no little trouble in tracing a short-circuit in the electrical installation of the above car, which caused the Klaxon and headlight fuses to blow repeatedly. Although this is a new car, and after endeavouring to find the cause of the trouble and were unable to do so, the owner was, on two or three occasions held up on the road at night time. Eventually, M.Schmidt, our Geneva agent, traced the short-circuit, after considerable work on the installation, to the thermometer, and it appears that the thermometer needle came into contact with the head of a screw when the temperature reached nearly boiling point. This inconvenience has now been rectified, but unfortunately not without some expense, and the object of this memo is to ask you to look into this matter at your end, with a view to avoiding similar trouble in the future.
