F.75756 Cambridge Thermometers.

With reference to yours EFC2/T13.9.27 concerning Thermometer No.83594 which we recently sent to makers for repair.

The Cambridge Instrument Co.Ltd. have examined the above and report that they found the hair spring had been fused. It appears to have melted in several places, and it would appear that the instrument has had a very high current passed through it to cause this.

Makers are proceeding to repair same, and will return the instrument to us at the earliest opportunity, adding that they are unable to carry out this repair free of charge as they cannot of course be held responsible for the heavy current which was passed through the instrument.

Please say as quickly as possible if you agree to a charge being made by makers in this instance.

ROY.{Sir Henry Royce}
