628. 1153 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}5/MH.{M. Huckerby} 2nd. November 1938. F.O.Hickling, Esq., Messrs. Ransome & Marles Bearing Co. Ltd., Newark, NOTTS. Dear Hickling, We are looking for a journal bearing size 40 x 90 x 23 to give the greatest possible capacity. New Departure list as standard a bearing that has 8 - 19/32 balls which we can buy very cheaply. This bearing has a further advantage that a snap ring can be had as a standard fitting. We do not want to fit American bearings in our cars, but think we shall soon be forced to if the English manufacturers cannot supply at a reasonable price bearings to suit up-to-date conditions. Perhaps you will send us your views on this, with particular reference to the bearing we now need. Kind regards, Yours sincerely, | ||
