Expanding Carburettor for the 20/25. We have now completed the development and tests of the new R.R. expanding Carburettor for the 20/25. We are satisfied that this carburettor is more consistent for slow running than our present standard carburettor and was prone to banging in the silencer, gives better acceleration and higher top speeds than our present product. We have carried out careful consumption tests from which we find that this carburettor gives exactly the same consumption as our existing standard instrument when driven at the same average speeds. In service we expect the consumption to be about one mile to the gallon worse under average conditions, as we previously predicted, which will be due to the owner taking advantage of the increased performance at his disposal.
