560. To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re My 25/30. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}39/E29.12.36 Referring to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}15/R.23.12.36 the engine is certainly not satisfactory. 1. It spits back into the carburetter under nearly all conditions of slow running on deceleration. 2. It ran very hot and I had to let the shutter adjustment out but even then it got very hot if driven at all fast. 3. It fires backwards when switched off and on the only occasion that I switched off after running fairly fast (40/50 m.p.h.) the engine ran backwards for quite a number of revolutions. I will send the car up on Monday next, the 4th Jan. and hope you will let me have it back before the end of next week. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} | ||
