L.H. PHANTOM II CHASSIS.

If the decision is made to produce all L.H. cars for the American market in Derby, we then consider the designs should be gone over to make sure that the same part is used on both cars wherever possible.

As regards the points raised in Oyl/W13.11.29 the following are our comments :-

(1) Quick warming up. We agree with Oy's comments.
(2) Performance. The intention is to improve the performance of Phantom II as regards acceleration as soon as possible, an easy and immediate way to do this is to fit smaller wheels which will give a lower axle ratio. As it is proposed for the wheels to be built up in America, this should not be difficult.
(3) Wheels and Tyres. We agree with Oy's comments.
(4) Coach Work. We agree with Oy's comments.
(5) Bumpers. We consider it is time we had a standard fitting for bumpers for the English and Continental as well as the U.S.A. cars.
(6) Lamps. We agree with Oy's comments.
(7) Clutch. We accept Springfield's criticism of the present standard clutch, and we are developing the clutch on the lines they recommend.
