-2- (5) Gearbox. The gearbox is full of experimental pieces and is not in a condition to be criticised. The gearbox of 35-MX{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} represents the position so far reached for production if a standard is required. (6) Steering. This is a good average of the steering as we now know how to make them. (7) Tyre Noise. This is the best we expect to be able to do for some time with tyre noise. The car is fitted with both rubber shackles and rubber body insulation. The rubber shackles have been designed, but of course have had as yet no endurance running. However, if we take the results obtained on the Cadillac, we should be able to obtain as good a reliability as they do. (8) Detonation. The ignitions on this car are correctly timed and it can therefore be taken as being a standard for detonation. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
