V7962 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}15/KW. 23rd May, 1934. E.R. Hall, Esq., Fort Anne Hotel, Douglas, Isle of Man. Dear Sir, Confirming our conversation of to-day's date, you have agreed to supply us with the following information :- (1) Can we fit Aerolite non-split skirt pistons in place of our own. (2) Can we fit a special camshaft. (3) Can we fit inlet valves slightly larger than standard if we do not otherwise alter the design of the head; i.e., if we do not enlarge the port size. (4) We are proposing to use Kelmit bearings instead of the standard white metal bearings. The work we are proposing to do is as follows :- (1) Prepare two special gearbox ratios in which the bottom gear shall be equal to the present 2nd speed, and 2nd gear intermediate between this and the 3rd speed ratio. (2) Supply an 11/41 axle ratio. (3) Supply a complete engine unit which will give a power output depending upon the pistons, valves and camshafts we are allowed to use. | ||
