1033 EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GR.{George Ratcliffe}12/JH. 10th June, 1938. The Zenith Carburetter Co.Ltd., Honeypot Lane, Stanmore, MIDDLESEX. For the attention of A.E. Palmer Esq., Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 3rd. ins. and in reply state that we agree to the new fuel level of .750" on all Wraith carburetters to be set with a test head of 8 ft. as for the E.E.C.42. The following Wraith carburetters have been brought up to date with the exception of the fuel level, which can be corrected on the chassis in the test dept. at the works here; Nos. 5431T to 5442T inclusive and 5276ST, the latter being the first model submitted for production test. We wish to point out that on all these carburetters the choke spindles were splayed out forkwise when dismantled for the spring change. This is presumably the natural condition after milling the slot through. We would prefer these spindles trued up and straightened before assembly to obviate any friction by distortion. Will you kindly make a note of this matter. With reference to the 30 H.P. carburetters, the request "modify to prevent popping back" signifies the revised slow running system only without alteration to any other part of the carburetter. All 30 H.P. carburetters still retain the .625" fuel level at 3 ft. 9 ins. head. | ||
