EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT.

The Zenith Carburetter Co.Ltd.,

Stanmore,
MIDDLESEX.

For the attention of Mr. A.E. Palmer.
D.C. 42 Carburetters.

Dear Sirs,

With reference to the above carburetters with modified choke mechanism.

We find by test that No.4545X fitted with strangler plate which is 2 m {Mr Moon / Mr Moore} /m thick is satisfactory providing the aux-iliary valve is reversed.

We see no objection to this because it does not function in its present position with our method of spring controlled closure for starting when cold.

Will you please note that adequate clearance is still necessary in the form of reduced spindle bearings, relative to the fitting of our air intake bend and existing rate of torsion spring.

As we are anxious to adopt this on all D.C.42 carburetters as soon as possible will you please let us know the position in regard to the existing stock and manufacture costs.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
