To D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} for Mr. Rodman. c. to Ey. c. to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Thr. X.4289 EFC1/T14.3.21. X.4289 - RE COSTS OF PRODUCTION OF ELECTRICAL UNITS. FOR RR CARS. X.4165 This is to confirm our conversation of this morning that your Dept. will provide me with the costs of producing the various units of our present standard electrical system, and also of those of the R.R. electrical system which we have already fitted up on two of the experimental cars. In connection with the present standard R.R. electrical system I would like to have the costs of producing the following units :- 1. Actuator Box. 2. Ballast Resistance. 3. Battery Box. 4. Battery Ignition, comprising separately (a) Contact Breaker, Distributor and Condenser. (b) Ignition Coil. (c) Ballast Resistance. (d) Steering Column Switch. 5. Lucas junction box. 6. Main Switch. 7. Push Button Switch. 8. Starter Motor. 9. Wiring, low tension and high tension. It is supposed that the prices given will not include any production testing or actual fitting to the car, but will be just representative of the cost of producing the unit. As regards the experimental R.R. electrical system, we desire to be informed of the costs of production of the various new experimental units occurring on this. Contd. | ||
