X 1139 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}3/MH.{M. Huckerby} Experimental Dept. 21st. March 1938. Mr.Bennion Browne, The AC-Sphinx Spark Plug Co. Ltd., Dunstable, BEDS. Dear Sir, Further to our letter of the 25th. February, (Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}6/MH.{M. Huckerby}) we have been informed that another AC oil filter is leaking at the seam, half way up the cylinder. We are anxious to know what your findings were on the first one we returned with a leak in this position. Having a second confirming failure in the same place obviously reveals the seam as a weak point, whether it is our installation clip or not that causes it, is hard to say, but certainly it must be prevented from happening in service and we shall be pleased to hear from you as to whether you have any suggestion to offer in respect of this job as soon as possible. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
