COPY. THE SOCIETY OF MOTOR MANUFACTURERS AND TRADERS LTD., 83, PALL MALL, LONDON, S.W.1. 142/1933. 21st.June 1933. Dear Sirs, PETROLEUM FIRES. ---------- With reference to my letter of 19th.April, I have obtained from the Home Office a note of various accidents which have arisen within the last year or two from the leakage of petrol on to exhausts, etc., copy of which is enclosed herewith. The Home Office set a considerable importance on these accidents, though they appreciate that they are purely fortuitous. All that is wanted is that manufacturers should keep the particular circumstances in view so that in the event of any alteration in design the possibility of their recurrence might be kept in mind. Yours faithfully, (Sgd) D.C. McLagan. AH. Encl. Secretary. To Car & C.V.Manufacturers and Concessionnaires. | ||
