TW9 To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth.4/KW.24.12.35. At a recent meeting of the I.A.E. held in Derby, the general question of Supercharging was discussed. The author of the paper, Mr. Thorneycroft of Ricardo's, suggested that it would be of interest if we could communicate to the Institute a curve showing how power could be increased by centrifugally supercharging. In view of this we ask your permission to communicate the accompanying curves. They were actually obtained during our work on supercharging the Bentley, but we think that they are only of general interest and in line with curves which have already been published by Graham-Paige. We have refrained from mentioning what engine the results refer to, and give no particulars of the engine, type of supercharger, or induction system. We propose to include the curves in the report of the discussion without comment. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/F.Ll.Smith. | ||
