The width of the core on the 2.450 dimension is minus .050.

The .950 dia. pipe in the centre section is misplaced .050, making the sectional thickness on the top side .110 instead of .160.

The sectional thickness of the top floor in this section is plus .075.

A .250 radius is required on the two webs above the .950 dia. pipe and .375 radius below.

The two tappet cores are misplaced lengthways.

Overall length of casting is minus .062".

The second cylinder was inspected following machining, and with the exception of a small piece of foreign metal embedded in one of the snouts proved to be in excellent condition.

Examination of the honed bores showed them to be entirely free from porosity and a great improvement over present standard castings.

The weight of this block as a bare casting without studs and tubes, is 59 lbs. 3 ozs. as compared with 60.5 lbs. for the standard type.

Two extra operations will be necessary, these being machining of the water inlet face and four additional core plug holes.

We require further cylinder blocks as quickly as possible for fitment to Experimental engines.
