Rolls Royce, Limited, DERBY. X/B7. January. 5th. 1928. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr.E.Fowler Clarke. We have recently returned to you two of our type ER6. Magnetos for test. One of these is of the brush and one of the jump spark type as arranged. As regards performance on test, in accordance with your latest specification, we beg to give hereunder a detailed report on each machine. We may say that each of these machines has run for 10 hours at 3,000 R.P.M. endurance test and the following tests were made after running for 1/2.hr. at 1,500.RPM. with the primary and secondary shorted and a further 15.mins at the same speed on the safety gap. We think you will find these machines in every way satisfactory and we shall be pleased to have your reports when you have had the opportunity of testing them out. Yours faithfully, JOSEPH LUCAS.
