Metal Spring Gaiters.

From Continental conditions we always find that the leather rear spring gaiters become very badly torn by stones. SpectreCodename for Phantom III III was a particularly bad case.

In our Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.1/KW.5. 8.35. we suggested that metallic gaiters similar to Cadillac should be tried. We attached a photograph of the Packard rear spring gaiter.

This appears to be a simple and neat design. The Buick spring gaiter is similar.

With both the Packard and the Buick, no spring clips are used. The cost of the Ph.III rear spring leather gaiters is 17/6d per chassis.
