He thinks that the drivers are inclined to lubricate too much, and this results in the brakes slipping.

(4) Radii should be introduced in the corners between the detachable wheel flange and the hub on the wheel side of the flange, and between the brake drum spigot and its flange.

(5) Not so much thread is required on the screwed nose which receives the hub cap. The first two or three threads should be removed from the male portion, and a wide undercut incorporated.

(6) The locking plate dealing with the inner ball bearing nut is considered to be too thick and heavy. The thickness should be reduced to about two-thirds and the studs securing it to the hub should be placed in a more advantageous position closer down to the bend in the plate, and the plate should be lengthened to provide more heel on its outer end.

Would you kindly incorporate the above mentioned points in your design. It would be as well to send a final blue print to Mr. Royce.

The scheme for the front hubs for Michelin detachable wheels has been received, and I will get Mr. Royce to look at it as soon as possible.
