Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} e.Ve. S.RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 88 Lp.{Mr Lappin}5/JL. 11.9.41. GUNS. I saw D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Arm. D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Air Commodore Huskisson last week. He is definitely blind, and I do not think can remain in his present position very long. He expressed, as his personal opinion, that there did not seem to be any useful purpose served in proceeding with the .5 gun, as there are ample supplies of the Browning now coming into the country, and they are working satisfactorily. He is very keen on the 40 m.m., and are now thinking in terms of a 75 m.m. gun. He would like to wait, before calling a meeting to discuss policy with us until the Beaufighter at Duxford has flown with the 40 m.m. gun. I have asked if we could have one of the 15 m.m. Mauser guns, and they are trying to find one, but I learnt from another source there are only two in the country. One of these weapons is fitted with a 20 m.m. barrel. Lp.{Mr Lappin} | ||
