March we have, in the meanwhile, investigated very closely the complaint concerning the failure of the Neoprene Filler Cap Washers. It is rather difficult to determine the actual cause of the trouble but our technical people are of the opinion it is due to the fact that the rubber was not correctly vulcanised, and the excuse put forward by the Works Department is that these were put through in a great hurry. It certainly indicates a variation of the cure and for that reason we have put in hand another lot of the same size. This particular lot was sent off to you on Wednesday by post and the parcel will be in your possession by this time. May we add the Washers were carefully examined by our Chief Chemist before despatch and we think you will find them to be perfectly satisfactory. We shall be obliged if you will test them in the usual way and it is hardly necessary to say we shall be extremely interested to receive, in due course, you report.
