[Handwritten Note] KS Can we put him up for the night at Duffield Bank House, Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} May 5, 1937 Mr. W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham, Rolls Royce Co., Derby, England. Dear Mr. Robotham: As I told you on your recent visit to this laboratory, I am expecting to have a short visit in England this summer. My plans are now to arrive July 1 and leave England July 12. During that time I hope to complete the following schedule: July 2 at Vickers Company, Weybridge; July 5, Rolls Royce; July 6, Cambridge; July 7, N. P. L.; July 8, Farnborough; and on July 9 I expect to watch the rifle shooting at Bisley. You can see from the above schedule that I expect to cover quite a bit of ground in the time available. I hope that it will be convenient for you folks to allow me to visit your factory on July 5. I, of course, realize that you are very busy with military work and undoubtedly a good deal of it is confidential. However, I only desire to get a general picture of how you folks do things, and especially to see how you produce such superb workmanship in production articles. Should this date be unsatisfactory, I would appreciate your advice as I do wish to cover as much ground as possible within the short time I have available for my visit in England. Please remember me to Mr. Ellor and Mr. Elliot. With kind regards, I am Yours very truly, [Signature] H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Reid, Engineer-in-Charge. [Handwritten Note] Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} yes HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
