Modifications to the Goshawk II Dynamo brushes and field connections.

X.4383 We send you herewith drawing No. LeC.1572 showing slight modifications for the purpose of providing a means of securing the field connections and preventing them interfering with the withdrawal of the brushes. The necessary modifications also for a narrower control brush have been shown. This brush has been made more than half the thickness of the main brushes so as to have sufficient substance for making a good pigtail connection. We think this does not matter as the brush is still narrower than the width of the commutator bar even when the latter has been reduced due to wear and returning of the commutator. We agree that it may interfere with the exact point of commutation but we should be glad if Mr. Clark would confirm that the dimension of the control brush as shown on LeC.1572 is suitable.
