PRODUCTION WRAITHS.

With regard to RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}'s further request for the release of the whole of the Wraith chassis, we suggest the following modifications to your memo By.31/N.10.1.38.

1. Rear Crankshaft Bearing - This should still be held up, as we have not yet overcome the oil leak trouble.

2. Valve Springs - Hold up until further running on 26.G.V1.

3. Timing Gears and Cam Balancer - These should be held up until we have had further experience of soft gears running against Fabroil.

4. Inlet pipes, carburetter silencer and Petrol drain pipes. - Release as on 26.G.V1. for tools only. We do not think it should be necessary at this stage to make 100 inlet pipes, as we may find an improvement to get better petrol consumption.

5. Oil Sump Indicator. - As we have not yet seen the indicator on the crankcase top half, we obviously cannot release it.

6. Radiator Filler- hold up.

7. Bonnet - Release with R.R. hinge in usual gauge material.

8. Rear Springs - Release as 26.G.V1.

9. Pedals - Hold up until further testing in France.

10. Rear Roll Rod and Dampers - Release as 26.G.V1.

11. Front and Rear Brakes, Front and Rear Hubs - Release according to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}4/MH.{M. Huckerby}28.1.38.

12. Front Bumpers. - hold up in view of possibility of obtaining price reduction.

13. Undersheets - Hold up.

14. Engine Mounting - Go ahead on tools.

15. Petrol Pump - The ordering of petrol pumps should be delayed until the last possible moment without holding up production, as we hope to get a 30/- saving on the pump.
