16. Bijur Piping - Release as 26.G.V1.

Since you wrote your memo By.31/N.10.1.38, various things have gone wrong which necessitated alterations to the chassis and some further parts being held up.

The sections affected are:-

(a) Front Steering Pivots - If the tests on the needle bearings are satisfactory we shall want to use them on Production.

(b) Gearbox - We have not yet tested the concertina coupling or the fully isolated change speed mechanism with the centralising spring in the outer unit. In addition we have now found that the tapers at the rear end of the 3rd. motion shaft and the transmission shaft are inadequate and these will need modification.

(c) Battery - It is probable we shall use a 25/30 battery but do not think it necessary to order these yet.

(d) Ignition Coil. - In view of the failure of the R.E. 20,000 turn coil to start cold engine, the coil should be held up.
