To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} X3579 Dal/14.7.23. RE. VACUUM FEED ON 40/50 X.3579 X.3575 X.3503. What Mr. Royce is now thinking of in connection with this question is a vacuum reservoir which is maintained by the pump and by the induction pipe in parallel all the time. Between this reservoir and the autovac is a non-return valve which we think is already in the autovac system, and which prevents the vacuum in the reservoir being destroyed when the autovac tips up. There will probably have to be valves between the pump and the reservoir to prevent the one interfering with the action of the other in the event of either failing. It has not yet been considered what form this reservoir would take, but presumably it would be a small chamber separate from the present autovac, with a head containing the necessary valves. If you find that you can rig up a 40/50 with a pump we think it would be desirable to rig it up in this way. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
