Rolls-Royce, Limited, Derby. Gentlemen, For the attention of Mr. West. In reply to your letters of August 3rd and 8th, as regards the K.L.G. 836-B plugs we are very pleased to learn that they functioned satisfactorily for the purpose for which they were designed, but we have noted your criticism as to flash-over. This is a matter which the Writer would like to discuss with Mr. West when he next visits your Works. As regards the standard Bentley plugs, we thank you for your approval of the new form of clinch nut and propose to adopt this forthwith. Unfortunately it is not possible for us to produce this with a plated finish as the clinch nut is actually ground on its outside diameter at the same time as the mica sleeve, so that were any attempt made to nickel plate it the whole plug would have to be immersed in the plating bath and this is a proceeding which we should consider very dangerous. Yours faithfully, p.p. K.L.G. SPARKING PLUGS LIMITED. C. M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Carington Director. | ||
