S.221. TAIL LAMP ON S.S. CARS WITH LUGGAGE CARRIER.
--------

Owing to slight variations of the position of the luggage carrier relative to the rear cross member, it is found that the tail lamp (S.221) on some chassis fouls either the bottom or the second from the bottom luggage grid rail. On some cars it touches both rails.

The variations from chassis to chassis is due to the fact that each spare wheel carrier and luggage grid is fitted up independently to suit each chassis. In its best position, the tail lamp has very little clearance at these points.

There does not seem to be an easy way out of the difficulty, if we continue to use the S.221 lamp.

The alternative lamp A.T.201, requires a new bracket and is a very poor lamp.

If we could obtain S.221 type lamps in which the lamp holder and wire instead of being vertical were fixed at 45° and to the rear of the lamp, we could possibly get over the difficulty without further alterations.

Will you please take the matter up with the makers.
