SS.{S. Smith} REAR LUGGAGE CARRIER ONLY AT REAR. X7400

We send herewith N. sch. 2892. shewing a luggage grid only at the rear of SS.{S. Smith} modelled on the lines of the grid behind the single rear wheel carrier - N. sch. 2811.

It is hoped that Derby will be able to arrange that the pressings and forgings shall be common to both luggage grids, the necessary bosses being cut off in each case.

It will be noted also that for -
(a) one wheel at the rear with or without grid,
(b) two wheels at the rear,
(c) grid only at the rear,
the same frame drilling is required, so that any scheme may be fitted with little or no extra cost.

With this scheme two side wheel carriers will be needed.

We suggest that an early opportunity be taken of testing the grid for 10,000 miles.

We are taking up with Sales the question of which of the various alternatives shall be standard, and which shall be extras.
