SpectreCodename for Phantom III - Re Head Lamp Tubes.
--------------------------

Due to the P100 lamps being larger than the drawing of them supplied to us by Messrs.Lucas some time ago, the lamps come too close to the radiator. It will be necessary to move the lamp socket outwards on the tube ½ ins. each side, to make sure of a reasonable clearance for polishing the radiator and the lamp. The Works have agreed to make this modification on the sets not already built up, and to modify accordingly the lamp tubes on such dummy chassis and running cars when modified pieces are available.

It is suggested that as the new unfinished pieces are built up they may be put on to the existing radiators and the present pieces taken off and modified.

For production we are proposing to make the head lamp bracket a clamp fixing so that it may be readily removed, and a design will be issued immediately.
