X6122 C. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.2/KT. August 20th 1932. National Accumulator Co, 50 Grosvenor Gardens, London, S.W.1. For the attention of Mr. G.N.R. Minchin. Dear Sirs, In connection with the Bentley Sports car it will be remembered that we had decided on the 6-GLll-A size of battery. We are particularly anxious to know whether this size of battery could be modified so as to incorporate the special R.R. long life features, i.e. thicker plates and wood and ebonite separators. We should be glad to know if - (a) this is possible in the existing size of battery. (b) How much the capacity, at the 10 hr. rate, will be varied. At the moment, according to your catalogue, this is 63 amp. hrs. (c) What would be the estimated difference in weight. (d) The difference in price. If it is impossible to modify 6.GLll-A battery without affecting the capacity seriously we should be glad to know if you have another type of battery of similar dimensions you could recommend in which we could have the special R.R. features. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS ROYCE LTD. | ||
