X.457. TESTS WITH MORE FRICTION ON 40/50 X.963. CHASSIS STEERING. X.1242 We have made a test be removing the Ball Thrust Races on the steering Pivots and having in their place plain fibre washers with the idea of adding a little friction to our steering. The effect of these plain washers is that we lose entirely all the nice characteristics of the R-R steering and we cannot appreciate that we gain anything in return. The steering is not completely self-centering. As soon as one commences to drive the car, one can notice the difference in the feel of the steering. It makes it more difficult to keep the car on the straight course. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
