(11) Snow Chains.

It was reported that Parsons Type Complete Chains could be applied to both front and rear of the Bentley if the rear jack pad be moved back 2.000 ins. This is being instructed. They can be fitted to Phantom III and Wraith II rear only, but strapped on grips can be fitted to the front if no wheel discs are fitted.

It was pointed out that wheel discs are fitted to a very large percentage of our cars.

Investigations show that it is impossible to fit Parsons Complete Chains on the front of Wraith II or Phantom III without rendering the steering geometry too bad to be acceptable.

It was decided to ask Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies} to get into touch with Messrs. Parsons and ask them to study the problem of a chain for the front of Phantom III with wheel discs, whilst Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} would make enquiries of French and Swiss makers.

A cable was sent to E in America asking for details of American practice, as it appeared to be impossible to fit chains to the Cadillac or Chevrolet cars here at the Works.
