-4- (6) Phantom III Bonnet Shutters. Works had reported that it would facilitate the introduction of the new single standard bonnet (11°) if it were possible to use an existing 25/30 H.P. shutter (11°) for which tools and parts are available. It was agreed to send Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} a drawing showing the proposal in order to obtain Sales approval. (7) Over-riders for Bentley Stabilising Bumper. A sample of a Wilmot-Breeden standard over-rider was seen on a car. A pair will be sent to Sales for their criticism. Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} will be given a print of a design of over-rider carrying out the motif of the radiator tank to see for what price this special design could be purchased from the J.R. Engineering Co. (8) Bentley Apron Rattles. A report on Apron rattles was read, written by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} from Kingsbury. It was decided to ask JLE.{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager} to make enquiries at the Service Depot. for exact details of the complaint. (9) Increased Room for Driver's Feet - Bentley. It was reported that with Sepak and carpet on the dash, some customers fouled their feet between the floor and the sloping face of the dash. Although designs were examined it was seen that neither the dash nor the floor could be altered at the moment on the present car. With respect to greater spacing between the pedals, transversely, this can be done if and when the wider dash is available and the pedals are re-designed. A change will be made when a suitable opportunity arises on the Standard Bentley and definitely on Bentley III. (10) Bentley Rear Bumper Brackets. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies} reported that Bentley rear bumpers as supplied on cars at Derby were heavy and that suggestions for reducing the weight of the bumper and fixing had been formulated. It was agreed that these be conveyed by him to the makers, and that Derby fit a revised fixing for the bumper bracket in due course. The meeting was shown designs of the new Sessions Portable Hydraulic Jack for corner jacking on the Bentley. In this scheme the jack pad and bumper brackets are combined. The scheme is being instructed for test on a Bentley forthwith. Contd: | ||
