Re relative speeds obtained with worm and bevel drive axles.

Mr Johnson    9/1/12    THB12/L9112.

You ask with reference to the 98th meeting :-
"What are the relative speeds obtained on the direct drive with our present design of worm axle and the standard bevel gear."

They are as follows :-
Standard bevel axle (65/22) 32.8 m.p.h. at 1,000 r.p.m.

Present design of worm axle, ratio 3.6 to 1, 26.7 m.p.h. at 1,000 r.p.m.
