X500 a G.W. Hancock Esq., Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre, France. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}9/KW.14.8.35. The Dunlop people were over here yesterday to discuss the failures of spokes on SpectreCodename for Phantom III road wheels. As a result of our conversation they are sending to you to-morrow a set of wheels with stronger spokes, which you can try on 3-S-I. They are also making up for us, wheels with the stronger arrangement of spoking, which will be fitted to SpectreCodename for Phantom III II when it comes out to France. Could you return to us the other two wheels on which you fitted new spokes, so that these can be examined by the Dunlop people. Re 21-G-IV. We are very anxious to know whether you consider the difficulty of moving the gear lever sideways with this car is due to a design fault, or to inaccurate machining or assembly. These bits will very shortly be on production, and we do not know whether to alter them or not.
