o/7230. To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/MJ.22.7.31. 25-EX. With reference to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}2/E14.7.31. Further to our conversation on the subject, we are carrying out experiments in France to overcome this trouble of the exhaust valves losing their clearances. We have a known means of overcoming the trouble if it persists, and that is the salt-cooled exhaust valves, which are doing so well on the "R" engines.
