The priming lever not only I admit more fuel, but also a helpful quantity of air -
With the high speed fit, apparently I have no trouble, except that machinery, if I happen to be alone on the road & open the cut-out the sound of the exhaust does not satisfy me -
I have tomorrow a day off, & will try some readjustment on the road, taking due precaution for secrecy - I have made good the reverse, with the help of the Depot people - changed oil in both chambers, cleaned & reset plugs & ignition (these engine jobs on my way & overnight) - reset tappets, greased all round, adjusted the brakes front & back to a nicety & all minor required adjustment, & I have since done some '80 or more miles & all goes well -
As for the comparative tests Mr. P.N. carried out with Haward 40/50 they consisted in acceleration tests - on a fairly level road - both cars being on top speed & level on accelerating both at the same time 46 PK always got away well in front, gaining a Car's length in about 3 or 4 seconds -
I do not think Mr. P.N. got any particular figure for these tests - if any further tests are carried out either by him or myself I will keep you in touch with same -
The actual mileage of the car up-to-date is about 2000 miles - I will write again when sending Time & expenses sheets -
Yours faithfully
S. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Lavers -
