Nice 21/2/24 *A980 X9946 Mr. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hives Exp. Dept. Rolls-Royce Derby Dear Sir, I have to hand your letter of the 18th inst. I note that you have sending a correct brake lever giving 10% increase on the action of the Servo - I have by now fitted the 20% lever & the other on the pedal shaft, but the brakes jagger now if actuated suddenly. The why I think the carburation is faulty is because I have noticed that when the engine is running at anything from 300 to 500 revs. if I give the priming lever I obtain a considerable acceleration of the engine, quite even, no matter where the mixture lever is placed, poor, normal or rich - and yet if I shut again the priming lever the revs fall off evenly, but with the mixture lever at the weak position the engine fails & with the said lever at the rich position the engine is distinctly rich & slows down - in other words the adjustment of the low speed valve is as near correct as possible.
