Dear Sir,

With further reference to the application of your valve to one of our chassis engines. We have found a suitable unit for this purpose, the dimensions of which are as follows:

6 cylinder: 4 1/4 litres.
Stroke = 4.500"
Bore = 3.500.

The unit has previously been used for research on valve arrangement and overhead camshaft drive.

Basically, the engine is a normal 4 1/4 litre Bentley, and the drawings enclose show the modifications necessary to adapt the overhead camshaft drive and suitable head.

We suggest the following procedure: When you have had a look at the drawings enclosed, we will bring the engine over and you may then be able to clear up any doubtful points. We would then like you to submit as soon as possible, your drawings for applying your valve (rough layout) to this particular engine, so that this part of the job may be proceeded with.

The writer will give you a ring about the middle of next week.

Yours faithfully,
