Water Pumps.

Three cast iron pumps of Buick design and one aluminium pump of R.R. design are being run on our cars satisfactorily.

The Cast Iron Pumps are fitted with "New Departure" bearings and Morgan Stuart glands.

The Aluminium Pump has two separate Hoffmann bearings with Morgan Stuart glands.

Mileage run to date on C.I. Pumps, 9-B-V - 3,337 miles, 3-B-50 - 4,236 miles and 30-G-V11 - 3,000 miles, and on Aluminium Pumps 4-B-50 - 7,795 miles.

Rig results at present are negative due, we think, to running at too low a water temperature. This is receiving attention.

Rattles in Transmission.

With a centre plate friction disc set at 17-27 lbs/ft., we appear to have overcome transmission rattles. B.20.AW car, which is free from rattles has been checked and found to be within this range. Lp{Mr Lappin}'s car which was a bad rattler, was found to be set at 10 lbs/ft., and a new plate at 17-27 lbs/ft., cured the trouble.

A semi-floating axle is also worth quite a lot.
