Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} The rubber blocks as at present designed will not stand up to the job for more than 250 miles. The chief trouble is in the spherical ball not being located in the tube and not giving sufficent area of contact in the working position. Another feature is the damper arm ball end is not in line with the anchorage ball end. This makes the faces of the rubber blocks work at an angle which forces the connecting tube over, at the same time cutting into the rubber block.
